About three times a day mom or dad just need to stroke my lip from the nose to the lip. This should help prevent the scar from pulling up and making me look like I have a permanent scowl. My sitter, Sandi said that she would massage it during the day too. Hopefully I'll get more used to them touching my nose and lip. Right now I'm a little sensitive about about my lip. Just bad memories from my surgery I guess. So mom, dad and Sandi have been massaging it in my sleep. I don't seem to mind that as much.|W|P|109302403837643036|W|P|Second Follow Up Visit|W|P|beanfamily@gmail.com9/04/2002 11:00:51 AM|W|P|Christine|W|P|This was a pretty short visit. Dr. Emery just looked at my incision to see how it was healing. He told us that as scars heal they kind of pull up and get stiff. To try and stop that we will need to massage the scar a couple times a day for the next year. He said that he can really see the difference in kids who get their scar's massaged and those that don't. But he said we would talk about when to start and how to massage it at my next appointment. He also told mom that she may feel a bump on my lip when she touches it. He said that is pretty normal for incisions on the face and it will get smaller with time. Mom said that she hadn't touched it yet because she figured it hurt. Dr. Emery said that it doesn't hurt, but I may balk at first because I'm not used to people touch my face. Other than that everything looks great. Dr. Emery was very happy with my recovery so far. He even took pictures of me in my restraints because the only other pictures he had the kid was screaming. I was calm as can be.|W|P|109302395105002214|W|P|First Follow Up Visit|W|P|beanfamily@gmail.com
